Heather L. Blaise

Heather L. Blaise is a founding partner of Blaise & Nitschke, P.C., where she employs a creative and collaborative approach in representing a variety of clients, ranging from legendary rock and roll pioneers and Grammy-award winning superstars to up-and-coming artists. Heather has over seven years of experience representing industry leaders, including entertainers, financiers, management companies, with a particular emphasis on both pursuing and defending claims for breach of contract, copyright infringement, and other intellectual property disputes.

In addition to her entertainment practice, Heather has also represented corporate clients in commercial matters including contract review, negotiation, and corporate formation services. Heather also has experience handling family law matters ranging from contested divorces involving high net worth individuals to complex multi-jurisdictional custody disputes. Heather consistently applies a multidisciplinary approach to create innovative legal solutions for her clients, be it through amicable settlements or at trial.

Heather graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2005 and earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles in 2008. Prior to co-founding Blaise & Nitschke, P.C., Heather has previously worked in the legal departments of Turner Entertainment Group and the Independent Film & Television Alliance, and has worked in Los Angeles-area entertainment boutique firms. Before becoming an attorney, Heather was a successful business owner of a fashion boutique in Orlando.

Heather served as Principal for the Law Office of Heather L. Blaise, P.C. from 2008 to 2015, and serves as Of Counsel to Oshana Law. She is licensed to practice law in both California and Illinois.

Thomas J. Nitschke
Partner

Thomas J. Nitschke co-founded Blaise & Nitschke, P.C. with the mission of providing high quality legal services to his clients. As a former owner of several diverse small businesses, Tom has extensive practical experience to draw upon when representing clients in commercial matters. Tom has successfully settled numerous commercial disputes for his clients through his tenacity and honed negotiation skills, but he is most at home in the courtroom. As a seasoned trial attorney, Tom has had great successes, including:

  • A six figure federal jury verdict for unpaid commissions on behalf of a salesperson after a four-day trial
  • A six figure bench trial award in favor of counter-claiming home owners against a contractor for breach of contract
  • A successful defense of an attorney malpractice claim and a six figure jury verdict on a counterclaim
  • Successful defenses against several mortgage foreclosure claims
  • A six figure bench trial award in a real estate dispute
  • Defense of Intellectual Property claims in arbitration including an award of attorneys’ fees paid by the claimants
  • Multiple successful commercial arbitrations
  • Numerous successful family law trials.

Tom has also practiced matrimonial and parentage law for over twenty years, with a particular emphasis on high net worth individuals and business evaluation. Inside the courtroom and out, Tom aggressively represents his clients, and provides a better value and more personalized service than larger competitors offer.

Previously, Tom was a partner at the Milwaukee-area firm Nitschke & Sika, S.C., where he now serves as Of Counsel. Tom graduated from DePaul University in 1986 with a BS in Accounting and Finance and from Marquette University Law School in 1994. In law school, Tom served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable John Madden at the Milwaukee Circuit Court. Tom is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Wisconsin, United States District Courts in Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin and the Northern District of Illinois, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Lana B. Nassar
Associate Attorney

Lana Nassar received her law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2014, where she served on the executive board of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association.  Lana concentrates her practice on real estate litigation and has represented property managers, condominium associations, tenants, and homeowners in a variety of case types, including foreclosure defense, collection actions, and evictions.

While in law school, Lana was a Judicial Clerk at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. She also served as a delegate at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to attending law school, Lana was a Fulbright Scholar in Amman, Jordan where she researched the political, social, and economic status of Christians in Jordan. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in International Relations and Political Science from Loyola University Chicago in 2008.

Lana is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Arab-American Bar Association of Illinois, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Missouri Bar Association. Lana enjoys hiking and is fluent in Arabic.
